Lusa. A Matriz Portuguesa
Traveling exhibition looking into the Portuguese influence on Brazilian contemporary culture. From prehistory to the “discovery” of Brazil, Lusa looks into the fascinating cultural mosaic that was Portugal before 1500. The country's cultural legacies (its Roman, Jewish, Islamic and Christian past) are narrated through artifacts, archaeological findings, works of art and video installations.
Lusa included more than 150 pieces selected in portuguese museums, including 30 National Treasures.
Setup at Centro Cultural Banco de Brasil in Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Sao Paulo, it attracted more than 1 million visitors.
